Chick-Fil-A vs. Popeyes: Drama, the new marketing

We have gone through infinite changes in the social media world. Networks change, evolve or die every day. Bullies become victims and online characters reach more social power than politics.
One major change that I have seen is not the system itself, but their type of content. Twitter!

If you were living under a rock for the past billion years, or still have a flip-phone (I've seen you!)
Twitter is the online news and social networking site where people communicate in short messages called tweets.
It was everyone's (me included) go-to place to check out legit news and it had that 100%ish-professional feels. No ads, no distractions, and the content were short and precise, it still is! but something has changed. It went to a news place to a platform to fight over followers and attention. Both parts are equally entertaining.

I believe it started with one of my favorites accounts: Wendys. A.k.a. the burger trolls.
But today we are talking about the other two, lesser-known brands that exchange yummy fattening goodies for your money: Chick-fil-a and Popeyes.

Long story short:
Chick-fil-a was the former Twitter Chicken sandwich champion up to last month. Their fame is now shared with Popeyes, this happened when Popeyes tweeted about their new sandwich on their menu.

Chick-fil-a tweeted this in response,

and the drama began!

trolls from other platforms jumped right into this and started retweeting their puns, shortly after, Popeyes's chicken sandwich was trending. Pure genius!
Popeyes chicken sandwiche searches spikes ne thousand percent! according to Google trends (I believe them).
Chick-fil-a representatives replied on the backend reaffirming their humongous follower-base and letting us know that this friendly argument is a good thing for both parties.

So, round one, give it up for Popeyes, the underdog!
