 Google Plus is shutting down
If you happen to be among the 395 million users that had a G+ profile you might have received an unexpected email this morning. Google Plus is shutting down. Titled "Your personal Google+ account is going away on April 2, 2019" this email lets you know how can you save your information from your profile and communities before the online giant shuts down the service for consumers.
The Hill reported that Google Plus is being shut down on April 2 due to security concerns. This was supposed to make Google close its service by August but somehow they decided to expedite the process.
“No third party compromised our systems, and we have no evidence that the app developers that inadvertently had this access for six days were aware of it or misused it in any way,” Google’s vice president of product management David Thacker was reported by The Hill to have written on the software bug last year,"
This security issue coincidentally happened around the same time as the much more polemical Facebook/Cambridge thing. 😨
